A Chicago-area Fortune 100 corporation generated thousands of dollars in revenue within its first month utilizing EnergyConnect, Inc. Demand Response solutions within its three mixed-use facilities. The participant’s facilities include its headquarters, regional sales offices, research labs and light manufacturing facilities. EnergyConnect, working closely with both the facility managers at each site and the corporate energy manager, identified flexible loads that could be reduced or shifted away from periods with high wholesale prices without impacting employee comfort or disrupting sensitive manufacturing and research processes. The customer signed a simple, two-page agreement that enabled them to make significant load reductions during a record heat wave in late July, 2006.
